Adam Weiss Architecture (AWA) specializes in creating residential design solutions that often grow from within traditional settings, yet express a modern understanding of the joys of light and space; shelter and flow; efficiency and bounty, materiality and sentiment. AWA focuses on residential architecture: helping clients find creative spatial solutions for their family’s changing needs. Whether this means remodeling an existing home, building a second unit, or building a new home from scratch, AWA provides the attention and expertise needed to generate solutions that are both joyous and efficient.
In his 25+ years in the field, Adam has worked on every scale of project: from small residential remodels, to summer camps, to elementary schools, to hospitals, to entire universities. In 2017, Adam left corporate architecture to return to his roots and open Adam Weiss Architecture. Informed by years of practice in the Japanese martial art of Aikido, Adam creates solutions that thrive in even the most challenging conditions. Adam received his Masters of Architecture degree form the University of Oregon in 1999 and has been practicing in the Bay Area ever since.
Outside of the office, Adam recently finished his term as Board President of Oakland Ultimate, a youth sports club which won national titles in two divisions in 2025. In 2024 Adam joined the board of Camp Tawonga, a jewish summer camp, and currently serves as Chair of the Buildings and Grounds committee. His current focus is on helping the camp complete a 10 year master plan to guide construction activities over the next decade,
